Duplex Steel S31803 / S32205 Instrumentation Ball Valves are high-performance ball valves that are formed with the most extensively used duplex stainless steel grade containing molybdenum, nitrogen and nickel content. These are austenitic-ferritic steel valves that offer superior resistance to corrosion and high strength. This alloy of valves also exhibits superior resistance to localized corrosion including pitting, crevice, and intergranular corrosion. These have good high-temperature oxidation resistance and are susceptible to chlorides stress corrosion cracking. These valves excellently possess good resistance in services such as brackish water, marine environments and in closed loop water systems. The grade of valves is highly ductile and tough as compared to other grades. These austenitic-ferritic valves result in superior mechanical properties that are able to deal with high-stress circumstances where other graded results in mechanical failure. The valves are solution treated up to 1020-1100 degree C and are rapidly cooled. Therefore these are not hardened by thermal treatment but are work hardened through the cold work process.
