Hastelloy C276 Instrumentation Ball Valves description-
Alloys made up from molybdenum, chromium, and nickel is a solid solution for a wide range of applications Hastelloy C276 is one of them. It has a small amount of tungsten. Hastelloy grade exhibits great corrosion resistance ability in terms of many severe environments. As other Hastelloy grades, it is very ductile, weldable and easily formable. These instrumentation ball valves are used in most industrial settings where aggressive chemicals are a concern, where other alloy ball valves have failed.
Hastelloy instrumentation ball valves are frequently used in many industrial applications such as petrochemical, oil, chemical, and other industries.
Hastelloy C276 is one of the versatile corrosion resistance alloy used today. The instrumentation ball valves made from it used in a variety of environments ranging from strong reducing to moderately reducing environments. This grade has exceptional resistance to many chemical compounds such as formic acids, acetic acids, chlorides, hydrochlorides, sulfuric acids and more. Moreover, Hastelloy grade is prone to phosphoric acids at all temperatures where the concentration is below 65%. When dealing in strongly oxidizing environments the limiting factor is low chromium content that means it cannot be exposed to hot concentric nitric acids.
Properties of Hastelloy C276 Instrumentation Ball Valves-
These ball valves have exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion in oxidizing environments. This alloy also exhibits resistance to corrosion in marine water in the crevice corrosion environments. This can induce aggressive attacks in other commonly used grades.
These instrumentation ball valves can be formed using various hot and cold working operations. as it is composed by nickel content it works hardens quickly. Furthermore, it can be cold formed using aggressive operations such as deep drawing, punching and press forming. It is induced in the hot working operation in temperature between 1600 deg F to 2250 deg F.
The annealing operation is recommended after the hot working operation in the temperature between 2050 deg F to 2150 deg F. it is followed by rapid water quenching operations that form a protective layer. Manufactured Hastelloy C276 Instrumentation Ball Valves are processed from industrial finishing process. After it’s processing some of the tests are performed for quality examination before dispatching. Such tests are like hardness test, PMI test, and mechanical test, pitting resistance test, chemical analysis and third-party inspection.
