Why Monel 400 is used to fabricate instrumentation ball valves?
The Monel alloy is a copper and nickel base alloys that are resistive to corrosion in many intermitting environments. It has two crystalline solids that form a single new solid after combination. Monel alloy is available in multiple variants starting with Monel 400. It has a minimum 63% of nickel and remaining other composition. This version of the alloy is valued for resistance to attack by acids and alkalis; even it has higher mechanical strength and ductility.
It has the same level of copper and nickel that is found naturally. Its strength can be hardened by a cold working operation. Because of its resistance to deterioration, it is most often used in applications found in marine and chemical environments. While it is very useful instrumentation ball valves, it costs reduced option for most of the applications. These instrumentation ball valves cost 5-10 times less as much as ordinary nickel and copper alloy. This results; it is used mostly when no metal could do the same job.
It is one of the few alloys that maintain its strength in sub-zero temperatures; therefore it is used in those conditions. The machining operations used for standard monel grades, same will be used for monel 400 alloy, Even though it is difficult due to its work hardening process. If the hardening of an alloy is a goal, then cold working using a soft die is only an option. Using cold working operations, instead of heat mechanical stress is used to change the shape of alloy. We recommend gas welding, metal arc welding, and submerged arc welding for Monel 400. When the hot working operation is performed in the temperature range from 648 deg C to 1176 deg c also it can be annealed at 926 deg C.

Due to efforts of the workforce and professional destructive and non-destructive tests are possible in our production line. The basic tests performed by us are valves seat leakage test, back seat test, thermal performance test, pressure test, leakage test and other tests demanded by customers.
