Monel K500 is a precipitation nickel-copper alloy that combines great corrosion resistance properties. The characteristics covered in the grade are excellent strength, great hardness, improved durability, and excellent performance are some of the traits covered. Monel K 500 offers high-stress crack corrosion resistance and has the highest yield and tensile strength compared to other Monel-grade alloys. The grade can be further strengthened by performing cold working, which is done before precipitation hardening.

Regarding grade strength, this nickel steel alloy offers excellent flexibility and resistance to high temperatures of approximately 400 degrees F. Other special properties of this nickel steel alloy grade are great spark resistance and non-magnetic nature. However, the magnetic layer can be easily developed on the surface of the Condensate Pots after processing it easily. The presence of aluminum and copper is oxidized during heating, leaving a magnetic nickel-rich film on the outside layer.

The improved corrosion resistance of Monel K500 is equivalent to Monel's other grade in age-hardened conditions. Also, this nickel alloy grade tends to offer high-stress crack corrosion in some severe conditions.
