Alloy stainless steel 304H is the modified alloy of the highly used 18/8 nickel and chromium stabilized austenitic stainless steel. The carbon is controlled at the range of about 0.04 to 0.10% for the well-increased strength above 427 Deg C. It is the inexpensive as well as adaptable corrosion resistance alloy that is ideal for ranges of applications. Alloy 304H is general corrosion resistance alloy; it resists atmospheric corrosion and averagely oxidizing and reducing atmospheres. This alloy due to high carbon content is subjected to the carbide precipitation at the heat affected area of welds. It is non-magnetic in nature into an annealed condition. It becomes slightly magnetic resulting in welding and cold working.
