Grade description-
These instrumentation ball valves are formed with Stainless Steel 321 / 321H alloy that is a stabilized austenitic steel alloy combine with 18% of chromium and 8 % of nickel content. In addition to it includes titanium content that offers good resistance to general corrosion. These valves resist good oxidation up to 1500 degree F whereas offers good stress rupture and creep properties as compared to other alloys. Furthermore, it possesses good low-temperature toughness also. These valves also consider high carbon content that enhances excellent tensile strength and creeps resistance at a temperature range of 1000 degree F.
The valves are stabilized against chromium carbide formation due to the titanium content. Furthermore, in hydrocarbon services, these resists polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking and also utilized in fluoride free caustic or chlorides solutions at moderate temperatures. These ball valves are easily formed and possess good ductility. The hardness of these valves are not achieved by heat treatment, therefore, these are only cold worked. By means of standard shop fabrication practices, these are easily welded and fabricated.
